The National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) at Hsinchu, Taiwan invites applications
and nominations for the position of Dean of the College of Electrical and Computer
Engineering with appointment to begin by February 1, 2014 to
January 31, 2017.
The candidate must possess an exceptional record of scientific or technical
accomplishment in ECE related fields, demonstrated leadership and creativity.
He/She should be strongly motivated to expand the educational and research
accomplishments in a highly visible environment. The candidate must be able
to energetically promote collaboration in research and education.
The College of ECE has the largest and the strongest program
in Electrical and Computer Engineering in Taiwan.
Among its 158 faculty members who are affiliated with the three departments,
25 are IEEE fellows, two are members of Taiwan, and two are foreign associates
of the National Academy of Engineering of USA. Each department
offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs that currently enroll a total of
1243 undergraduate students, 1484 master students, and 575 doctorate students.
The college involves five research centers and has an average
annual research fund of more than US$ 24.6M in addition to the regular
government budget.
